Seattle Mayor Signs Gun Ordinance in Violation of State Law

The following article appeared in Keep and Bear on July 18th

Jenny Durkan became mayor of Seattle in November 2017. Before that, she was appointed by Barack Obama to be the US Attorney for the Western District of Washington. On a scale of 1 to 10 where one is the far left and 10 the far right, you might find Durkan rated around -5. She is not only an Obamanite Democrat, but she’s very anti-everything America and conservative.
Constitution hating Marxist and Barack

Despite the fact that the state of Washington has a law giving the state legislature full authority over firearm regulations, Durkan went ahead and signed a city ordinance which mandates the safe storage of all firearms. A lawsuit challenging the ordinance is already being worked on.

(Liberty Park Press) – Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan has signed a city ordinance requiring so-called “safe storage” of firearms, with civil penalties for violations, despite a 35-year-old Washington statute that placed sole authority for gun regulation in the hands of the State Legislature.

Alan Gottlieb, founder and executive vice president of the Second Amendment Foundation, based coincidentally in the neighboring city of Bellevue, confirmed that there will be a lawsuit challenging the validity of the ordinance under the state statute. SAF was joined a few years ago by the National Rifle Association, Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms and other gun rights groups in a lawsuit that stopped Seattle from banning firearms in city park facilities.

Here’s the statute, RCW 9.41.290:
“The state of Washington hereby fully occupies and preempts the entire field of firearms regulation within the boundaries of the state, including the registration, licensing, possession, purchase, sale, acquisition, transfer, discharge, and transportation of firearms, or any other element relating to firearms or parts thereof, including ammunition and reloader components…

Obama chose what laws he would enforce and which ones he wouldn’t enforce, so why should one of his disciples be any different? The problem with this disciple is that her ordinance will cost some homeowners their lives or allow them to be physically and sexually attacked in their own homes because they have no way of defending themselves because their guns have to be locked up.
