Where is the Media Campaign Against the Left-Inspired “Climate of Hate?”

By Doug Book

American Thinker contributor Thomas Lifson writes of the shooting of Congressman Steve Scalise:

Update: GOP Congressman Shot

It was approximately two hours after Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was shot in Tucson, Ariz. by Jared Loughner, an insane man, that the left media began a campaign against the "climate of hate" allegedly fostered by, in particular, Sarah Palin.  Remember the crosshairs on a map of districts targeted for GOP wins?

With the cultural grandees of New York indulging in theatrical renditions of President Trump being bloodily stabbed, there is certainly a climate of hate now.  It is time for a little reflection on their part.  If it turns out that the shooter was inspired by the political hate of the left, this could be a turning point in the national mood.  (Excerpt)
Sound Familiar?

There's little doubt that the shooter, James Hodgkinson, had been inspired by the “political hate of the left.” A dedicated Bernie Sanders supporter, according to the UK Telegraph, “Hodgkinson was vociferous on social media about his dislike for Donald Trump.”   Not only was Hodgkinson “on the really progressive side of things,” reports the Washington Post,  he was a member of the Facebook group “Terminate the Republican Party” (which reportedly celebrated after the shootings). Hodgkinson also belonged to:

Salt of the earth kind of guy, wasn’t he!

The Washington Post article is brief, to the point and rails not one whit against “comedienne” Kathy Griffin for her remarkably tasteless (even for a liberal) photo with the president’s severed head. Apparently it doesn’t qualify as a measure of the current climate of hate.
So Sayeth the Left

The U.K. Telegraph predictably veers into a diatribe against the AR 15 used by Hodgkinson, stating that the gun has “a dark reputation as the weapon used in dozens of mass killings.” Damned unlucky for Congressman Scalise that an otherwise peace loving friend of humanity should have been seduced by the irresistible allure of that weapon.  The Telegraph also makes no mention of the hateful political climate engendered by the left or its effects on Hodgkinson.

And then there is the New York Times. The Paper of Record has decided that no one knows what motivated Hodgkinson to shoot up the Republican baseball team, only that he “was said to be distraught over President Trump’s election.”

The Times Editorial Board observed that “conservatives and right-wing media were quick on Wednesday to demand forceful condemnation of hate speech and crimes by anti-Trump liberals.” Yet the only author of “Hate Speech” denounced by the Times was Sarah Palin! It seems the newspaper continues to blame the Alaska governor and her cross hairs map for the attack on Gabrielle Giffords in 2011. But the Times was forced to print a “Correction” to its Palin smear, admitting that the Editorial Board had “incorrectly stated that a link existed between political rhetoric and the 2011 shooting of Representative Gabby Giffords.”

So where is the outrage over the climate of hate fostered by Michael Moore, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, Kathy Griffin, Patty Lupone, the New York City Public Theatre…the list is endless.

The answer is simple. The left exposes evil practices; it doesn’t engage in them.  That bone ugly broad holding Donald Trump’s severed head was only revealing the awful things the president believes; she wasn’t suggesting that some psycho loser act on her little staged tableau. It was a friggin metaphor!

So leftists aren't hateful; like most geniuses they are just misunderstood. Uh huh.

Got it?
